What is agro fertilizer? ›

Most fertilizers that are commonly used in agriculture contain the three basic plant nutrients: nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Some fertilizers also contain certain "micronutrients," such as zinc and other metals, that are necessary for plant growth.

Nitrogen helps produce green leaves and stems, phosphorus helps produce root development, and potassium helps the plant withstand stress from heat or cold. A good all-purpose fertilizer would be a 10-10-10 NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium).

Urea is the most common N fertilizer, but many more excellent N fertilizers derive from ammonia. For example, some ammonia is oxidized to make nitrate fertilizer. This same conversion of ammonia to nitrate takes place in agricultural soils through the microbial process of nitrification.

Major two-component fertilizers provide both nitrogen and phosphorus to the plants. These are called NP fertilizers. The main NP fertilizers are monoammonium phosphate (MAP) and diammonium phosphate (DAP).

Agro by-products or agro residues are mainly obtained from agricultural production, harvesting, and processing in farm areas and from agricultural processing industries such as oilseed extraction, brewery, malt production, cereal grain milling, fruit and vegetable processing.

Agro– is a combining form used like a prefix meaning “field,” “soil,” or “crop production.” It is occasionally used in scientific and technical terms, especially in agriculture. Agro– comes from Greek agrós, meaning “tilled land.”

Sheep and rabbit manures offer a rich nutritional content and arrive in the easily spreadable pellet form naturally. Both are especially good for flowering plants but are not often found in abundance, so may have to be used sparingly.

Compost. Compost reigns supreme in the world of natural fertilizers. This nutrient-rich material is created by the decomposition of organic matter like food scraps, yard waste, and leaves.

Most gardeners should use a complete fertilizer with twice as much phosphorus as nitrogen or potassium. An example would be 10-20-10 or 12-24-12. These fertilizers usually are easy to find. Some soils contain enough potassium for good plant growth and don't need more.

In that latter year, nitrogen fertilizers accounted for around 56 percent of the total global consumption, whereas phosphate and potash fertilizers held shares of 24 and 20 percent, respectively. Mineral fertilizers are widely used in agriculture to improve soil fertility and achieve higher crop yields.

Your neighbours could use liquid kelp or fish emulsion. They are liquid products that are diluted in water and then used to water the plants – ideal for containers. In areas where beans, peas, or other legumes are to be planted the application of N should be avoided as this can reduce the yield of these vegetables.

The agrochemicals such as fertilizers and pesticides are being used for enhancing crop productivity and protecting the plants from competing organisms (pathogens, pests and weeds, etc.

Super Gro can be added to foliar fertilizers and pesticides before being applied on crops. A small drop of Super Gro should be mixed with 100 – 200 litres of water, add foliar fertilizers or pesticides and spray on your crops. 100 ml of Super Gro should be added to 100 lires of water.

Urea can only be used after it has been kept at room temperature for 4-5 days. Excessive use of urea can easily damage the fertilizer. Urea should always be used sometime in advance as it takes a long time for it to take effect. Urea can cause inflammation of the skin, eyes, and respiratory tract.
