Answer and Explanation: There is no country that is entirely below sea level, however, there are some regions of the world with areas far from the coast that do descend to below sea level. The two most well-known examples are Death Valley, California and the Dead Sea (which is really a lake) in Israel.
From its inland core, Rotterdam reaches the North Sea by a swathe of predominantly harbour area. Built mostly behind dikes, large parts of the Rotterdam are below sea level.
