Equity mutual fund investors hope to get double-digit returns over a long period. ETMutualFunds has done several studies on schemes and categories that have offered double-digit returns over various time frames. We looked for schemes that have offered over 20% in 10 years and found out that 11 equity schemes have managed to offer more than 20% return in a 10-year horizon. There were 91 schemes that have completed 10 years in the market.
Five small cap schemes managed to offer more than 20% return in a 10-year horizon. Two schemes from large & mid cap and mid cap categories made it to the list. One scheme from the multi cap and flexi cap category also managed to be in the list. No large cap scheme offered more than 20% return in the 10-year horizon.
Based on rolling returns, only three schemes managed to offer more than 20% return in the 10-year horizon. Nippon India Small Cap Fund topped the return chart and offered 22.78% return.

The basic purpose of the above exercise was to find out the schemes that have offered more than 20% returns in the long-term horizon. One should not make or redeem their investments based on the above lists.
We considered only market cap based equity categories - such as large cap, small cap, mid cap, large & mid cap, multi cap and flexi cap only. We considered rolling returns for 10-years, rolled on a daily basis. For the 10-year horizon we calculated returns starting from April 13, 2013 to April 13, 2023.
